The ZCATWU General Secretary, Nicholas Mazarura  is embarking on ‘meet the membership familarisation tours’
which will see him getting personal with membership. Mazarura has so far met with workers in Kariba, Nyanga and Kwekwe. The tours which will see the general secretary visiting work-sites around the country are meant to bridge the vacuum between the membership and the administration as well as to cement bonds. Mazarura visited Kariba and Nyanga
construction sites as well as Group Five  workers doing road construction from Harare to Kwekwe. “This is an ongoing exercise which will go on for the remainder of this year. I have been having one on one interactions with workers and distributed regalia and reading materials. I also take the opportunity to give membership information on current issues,” he said He added that the visits afford him an opportunity to check for compliance as well as get grievances from members.

“We have the organising department that usually deals with such issues but I saw it necessary to engage workers at a personal level as well as to get first hand information from the membership,” said Mazarura.
